Every day people create something new, something unbelievable and unexpectable. One day we can wake up and know that someone created the time-machine. And it will be the greatest invention of our century. But our descendants will see an enhanced model of this machine and will look at the first prototype as if it is a mammoth.
Thus, on 14th of February 1876 in America Alexander Bell applied for a patent of the invention, which he called the phone, and the whole world, for sure, was shocked.
The first portable phone was released in 1973. In 1998 - the first phone with touchscreen. Back in the time, phones cost and weighted too much. Nowadays you can find any cellphone you want: with touchscreen or with qwerty, with WI-FI or Bluetooth, tiny or enormous. And the price is acceptable.
We, modern-day people, cannot imagine our life without smartphone, because we spend at least one sixth of a day, using this precious invention. And it is not surprising. We can make calls or text messages.. We can download as many apps as we want or as a memory card allows. We can take pictures and share it on Instagram. Or use WhatsApp, Viber and so on. And  it all hides in one tiny box. Who could imagine!
Among a variety of applications the most important app for me is Skype. Whenever I want, I can reach my friends from Russia, Sweden, Finland and tell them about New Year's Eve, about weekends, or we can remember unforgettable moments we spent together. If I lived a hundred years ago, I would met them once in a lifetime and never saw or heard again.
So yes, cellphones have many advantages, but on the other hand we forget about people around us. We spend our days, chatting online, while there are parents and friends,  who want to talk, who probably need help or advice. While there are homework, housework, cooking which is needed to be done. Teenagers forget that books were written not only for quotes. But joking aside, it's a real pity.

Thereby, every innovation has its advantages and disadvantages. And people, walking in step with the times, should not forget the simple pleasures of life.

  1. Hi Dayana,

In fact, an essay is of exceptional quality; a thorough and thoughtful treatment of the topic presented in a logical and convincing manner. Careful attention is paid to language.

I think you could think about a career in journalism.
